Design of a 35,000 sf Branch Courthouse for the 11th Judicial Circuit of Florida.
The base program includes Judicial Administrative Office of the Courts, and Clerk of the Circuit Court space. The Judicial segment includes Litigation and Chambers, as well as Court and building support. The Administrative Office of the Courts includes divisions for Domestic Violence, Interpreters and Mediation. Clerk of the Circuit Court Space includes divisions for Traffic, Public Assistance, Civil Public Assistance, Domestic Violence Assistance, Office Staff and Post Judgment Rooms. The classic, stoic form conveys the gravity and dignity of the functions within and signals its importance to the community.
The monumental, two-story portico along the south façade, offering protection from sun and rain and providing a place to meet before entering, defines the building’s entry. The facility includes a parking garage for eighty vehicles.
