The New Meadowlands stadium is the home for New York’s NFL teams, the Jets and the Giants. This 82,500 seat stadium consists of approximately 218 luxury seats, making it the second largest NFL stadium in terms of total seating. The primary structural frame consists of steel braced frames with infill composite steel beams. The stadium, located in a moderately seismic region, is supported by concrete piles. The exterior facade comprises of aluminum louvers that aid in transmitting interior lighting which corresponds to the team using the stadium.
A comprehensive peer review was conducted by creating independent structural analysis models to verify the current design.
